To meet the basic qualification for the Global Security Operations Center Manager opportunity, you must have legal authorization to work permanently in the United States for any employer without requiring a visa transfer or visa sponsorship. To be a good fit for the role, you will have:
  • Bachelor's degree preferred. We will also consider highly experienced candidates with a high school diploma or GED equivalent
  • At least 4 years of work experience managing a Security Operations Center, Security Communications Center, security/alarm monitoring center, or other related operations center that performs situational awareness and alerting functions. Quick question for you - click here
  • Experience supervising personnel and resources for the successful operation of a 911-Center and/or Operations Center that leverages the use of technology is required; communication center supervisory experience preferred
  • Leadership ability to build and develop a team
  • Successful work history including demonstrated ability to:
    • Prioritize workload based on urgency, delegate tasks, and exercise good judgment in a crisis

Reporting to the National Account Manager, you will take ownership of a highly visible role embedded at a key, Fortune 100 client (Sony), and hold accountability for the effective and efficient management of the 24/7 Global Safety Operations Center (GSOC) and its operators. You will manage the day-to-day activities of the center as well as manage, monitor and guide the daily job performance of its personnel. 

You will manage and develop a tight-knit, 15-member team including shift leads and operators. While the team is strong and knowledgeable, with the right leader at the helm, and in conjunction with the Training and Development Manager, team members can continue to evolve and gain greater efficiency. This is a multifaceted role combining technical leadership along with team and client management. You will regularly meet with Sony management to review program status, prepare meeting agendas and notes. You will assist in the evaluation of global security needs and determine the feasibility of delivery requests, You will address actual and potential problems, provide support during new transitions and start-ups, and provide strategic direction and support for programming and budgetary considerations. 

Additionally, you will:
  • Provide timely communications and actionable intelligence to support the protection of people, assets/intellectual property, and infrastructure of center and related interests/entities
  • Serve as the hub for the monitoring, analysis, and interpretation of risks and threats that may affect the business and ensure all systems, both hardware and software, are functioning properly and immediately notify appropriate stakeholders when they are not
  • Perform analysis, planning, and provide direction in order to ensure that the GSOC is delivering maximum value to the business and provide training and development Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for personnel assigned to the GSOC to facilitate effective performance
  • Identify and communicate daily all critical items requiring the attention of senior management and coordinate with Safety Operations Managers to provide necessary documentation in support of uniformed guard force activity (e.g., officer dispatch, incident reporting, etc.)
  • Develop a program for maintenance and troubleshooting of software systems with a focus on preventative maintenance and early detection of potential issues and assist in identifying new technologies and upgrades for existing systems
  • Assume full responsibility for identifying and scheduling all appropriate certifications and inspections of the GSOC, its systems, personnel and functions and ensure procedures and protocols are in place that enable the timely and effective response to, and management of, incidents, alarms, notifications, calls and other activities related to the GSOC and its role as a central monitoring station
  • Initiate necessary contract compliance initiatives and implement corrective action in a timely manner
  • Respond to client complaints that cannot be satisfactorily resolved at the regional level and ensure resolution to the satisfaction of our client and G4S
  • Collect best practices related to administrative and/or operational processes and disseminate these to all G4S operations supporting client’s facilities
  • Provide advice and counsel to G4S operations on operational and administrative matters, and procedures, as required, with a view towards standardizing processes, where possible
