To meet the basic qualification for this role, you will have legal authorization to work permanently in the United States for any employer without requiring a visa transfer or visa sponsorship. In addition, to be a good fit for the Director, Business Development opportunity, you will have:
  • A bachelor's degree in a related field (Business, Marketing, Criminal Justice, etc.) or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 5+ years of experience selling solutions at senior levels within Fortune 500 companies Quick question for you - click here
  • A solid track record of meeting or exceeding sales goals year-over-year
  • Experience with Salesforce or similar customer relationship management application
  • The ability to build a sales program 
  • A background in security (private, agency, military, etc.) is strongly preferred
  • International experience is preferred
  • Fluency in multiple languages is a plus

  • Excellent relationship building and consultative selling skills
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a personable demeanor

You could be based in our US headquarters in Jupiter, Florida, but we will consider candidates located anywhere in the continental US, as long as you are near a major airport. You'll focus primarily on major multinational corporations based in the US, but you also may pursue some international work that will involve international travel.

Reporting to the President, Corporate Risk Services, you will start as an individual contributor. Your focus will be on selling the division's services, sometimes in collaboration with field resources. In addition, you'll coordinate with peers in other G4S divisions to cross-sell multiple services and products.

Initially, you will invest most of your time in direct sales activities, with an emphasis on larger consultative opportunities involving recurring business. This is a strong relationship play, and you'll need to establish connections based on credibility and trust. Often we win business because of previously-established relationships. At the same time, you will lay the foundations for a sales strategy for the division. It is our hope the business development organization will grow. In addition, your responsibilities will include:
  • Networking in associations, at conferences and through other channels
  • Meet or exceed sales targets on a consistent basis
  • Develop a comprehensive targeting strategy for Fortune 500/1000 companies
  • Building a realistic pipeline of opportunities to better guarantee the achievement of targets and maintain an accurate sales forecast
  • Maintaining full opportunity management process (G4S Way) in Salesforce and reporting monthly on sales performance
  • Building collaborative working relationships with sales leaders/sales teams across the region and internationally
  • Developing and writing bid strategy documentation and customer contract approvals to support internal approval processes for large/complex deals
  • Supporting bid preparation activities, such as executive summaries, technical responses, etc.
