To meet the basic qualification for the Business Development Manager (BDM) opportunity, you must have legal authorization to work permanently in the United States for any employer without requiring a visa transfer or visa sponsorship. To be a good fit for the role, you will need:

Education and Experience
  • A bachelor’s degree, preferably in Business, Marketing or a technical field (preferred) or the equivalent combination of education and outstanding sales experience   Quick question for you - click here
  • 5+ years of B2B outside consultative sales experience selling contract services and/or solutions (e.g. security, facilities services, uniform service, etc.) at the director to C-suite level; comfort working with all levels of contacts  Quick question for you - click here
  • Demonstrated track record of meeting and exceeding goals
  • Security sales or other security-related experience is an advantage; a military or law enforcement background is a strong plus
Knowledge and Skills

Your Mission
Reporting to the Regional VP of Business Development and partnering with local and regional operations leadership, you will be responsible for developing a book of business and gaining a heightened presence in the Phoenix market by focusing primarily on the sale of security officer services to corporate and commercial organizations. You will also have the opportunity to enhance your offerings by up-selling and cross-selling our diverse portfolio of additional products.

Role Details
As BDM, you will drive sales in your territory from cold call to close. Your activities will include research, prospecting, identifying decision makers, relationship development, understanding pain points, creating solutions, writing responses to RFQs / RFPs, delivering sales presentations, and following up. You will develop a strategic sales plan and execute that plan for optimal results. More specifically, you will:

  • Research and identify prospects, gain appointments and make presentations
  • Develop a sales plan, determining and prioritizing key opportunities and working every sale from lead generation to close
  • Maintain a high level of activity in your territory in order to build your pipeline and ultimately close deals. This is a consultative sales role with sales cycles that are typically longer than transactional sales
  • Build relationships with prospects, customers, team members and management
  • Evaluate and respond to RFIs/RFQs as appropriate; work with the internal team on proposals and required deadlines
  • Establish yourself in this territory as a subject-matter-expert and go-to resource for required services
  • Establish G4S as the market leader and trusted advisor for all security services
  • Leverage the Salesforce.com platform for tracking all sales related activity
  • Customize and present capabilities to prospective customers; negotiate contracts
  • Come into the office in Phoenix, near Sky Harbor airport, regularly to build strong and supportive internal relationships with local and regional operations personnel; and interact with other offices. The territory is supported by four operational offices.
