To meet the basic qualification for this role, you will have legal authorization to work permanently in the United States for any employer without requiring a visa transfer or visa sponsorship. In addition, to be a good fit for the Director, Human Resources opportunity, you will have:

Role Overview
You will report to the Vice President, Human Resources (G4S Central Region) as well as the Market Vice President -- you'll serve as a strategic partner to the Market VP and the operations team. You'll oversee all aspects of human resources, investing the largest portion of your time in recruitment, training, compliance, and employee engagement and relations.

You'll oversee a team of 10+ that includes a Regional Recruiting Manager, Regional Training and Compliance Manager, one to two HR Managers and several HR Generalists. The team is responsible for all HR duties for regional operations, including recruitment, training and onboarding, local benefits administration, employee relations, workers compensation administration, regulatory compliance and more. Quick question for you - click here

Role Details
You will ensure your team provides high-quality support and resources to the business, promoting a strong culture and engagement to minimize issues, and improving customer satisfaction. You'll also provide training and coaching to help your own team grow their skills. You'll be responsible for ensuring your team meets expectations in all areas of HR, including:
  • Workforce planning.
  • Leaves of absence.
  • Performance management/disciplinary actions.
  • Supporting integration of new accounts.
  • Investigations.
  • Unemployment claims.
  • Maintaining employee records.
  • Employee retention and development.
  • Investigating and managing complaints (discrimination, harassment, etc.).
  • Compliance with client contracts as well as collective bargaining agreements.
  • And more.
As part of your specific duties will:
  • Coordinate with the Operations Manager and Labor scheduling on new hire availability, qualifications and current/future demand.
  • Ensure the recruiting team has knowledge of and job descriptions for open positions and has been trained to maximize his or her effectiveness in filling those positions.
  • Identify staffing needs for the local office.
  • Manage relations with local unions.
  • Monitor and track candidates received, interviewed, and hired against open positions.
  • Administer leaves of absence, FMLA, PTO, etc.; employee relations activity, disciplinary actions; Comp Stat participation; Implementing customer transitions; workers comp management; unemployment claims management, and employee records changes in PeopleSoft.
  • Work with G4S managers to ensure they maximize all opportunities and use all tools available for employee retention and development.
  • Ensure compliance with company HR policies and applicable federal, state, and local laws.
  • Attend weekly meetings with the General Manager, Shared Services Management and Operations Management to align organizational goals and targets.
  • Take complaints concerning discrimination, sexual harassment, and workplace harassment and provide investigative assistance when necessary in such matters; provide guidance and support for supervision concerning employee relations and disciplinary action.
  • Conduct Recruiting Specialist and Human Resources Specialist training and development.
  • Identify, in coordination with the GM, opportunities for employee retention and development.
  • Ensure that employee appraisals are conducted correctly and in compliance with the annual schedule.
  • Ensure that managers are engaged in Performance Management with their employees.
  • Affirmative Action Program compliance and planning.
  • Oversight of all recruiting, selection, and placement processes. Implement corrective actions as needed.
  • Ensure overall contract compliance regarding employee basic and preferred qualifications, screening, training, and licensing.
