- Bachelor's degree combined with 1 year of Human Resources experience

- Multi-site / shared services experience preferred
- Experience with employee relations, development and engagement as well as policy implementation and interpretation

- Strong Generalist knowledge and work history including:
- Demonstrated knowledge of benefits administration
- Sound understanding of personnel and compliance records management
- Sound understanding of policy interpretation and implementation
- Experience in union environments, including managing grievance processes, interpreting contracts, doing investigations, etc.
- Solid computer skills, including familiarity with MS Office, HRIS and ATS applications
- Excellent organizational skills that include the ability to multi-task and prioritize work
- Consultative, analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to communicate effectively with all levels, including leadership
- Ability to travel to other sites as requested, typically monthly or quarterly. Most travel will be day trips
- Be at least 18 years old or the minimum age required by the state, if higher
- Be a U.S. citizen or a foreign citizen authorized to legally work in the United States
- Submit to a pre-employment drug test

The Role
Opportunity OverviewReporting to the Human Resources Manager, you will join another HR Generalist working in the Boston office, and be responsible for primarily supporting the local office, but also visit and help with the efforts of other office sites including Buffalo, Syracuse, Dulles, Hartford and Dayton as requested. Recruiting is a central focus as we do a great deal of high volume hiring of security personnel. That means that everyone supports recruiting to meet the demands and contractual responsibilities of our clients.
Role Details
You will support the local office with employee hiring and onboarding, employee relations and development, investigations to support the discipline/grievance process, personnel records, background screening, group insurance administration and monthly reconciliation, Workers' Compensation, unemployment claims, Affirmative Action planning and leaves of absence. You'll also ensure compliance with corporate policies and the application of federal, state and local laws.
Specific responsibilities will include:
- Coordinating with the District Manager and Scheduling Center on staffing demands, new hire availability, qualifications and current/future demand.
- Partnering with Recruiters on open positions; ensuring the development of job descriptions to meet the needs of the business.
- Identifying staffing trends as well as identifying future needs for the local office.
- Monitoring and tracking candidates received, interviewed, and hired against open positions.
- Ensuring all onboarding requirements are met per G4S and client contract compliance
- Administrative management including administering leaves of absence, FMLA, PTO, etc.; employee and labor relations activity, disciplinary actions; Comp Stat participation; implementing customer transitions; Workers Comp management, unemployment claims management, employee records changes in the HRIS, and benefits administration.
- Working with G4S Managers to ensure they maximize all opportunities and use all tools available for employee retention and development.
- Ensuring compliance with company HR policies and applicable federal, state and local laws.
- Attending weekly meetings with Operations and Shared Services Management to align organizational goals and targets.
- Taking complaints concerning discrimination, sexual harassments, and workplace harassment. Leading and/or assisting with investigations; providing guidance and support for supervision concerning employee relations and disciplinary action.
